Terms and Conditions for Car Hire
Hirer
The term “hirer” shall refer to the person or persons identified on the booking form as the bride
and/or groom and/or the person who signed the booking form.
Deposit
Bookings are accepted only following receipt of a deposit of €100 per car. Deposit or any other
amount paid in advance is non-refundable. Please make cheques payable to Coolmanagh Enterprises T/A Odyssey.
Balance
The full balance must be paid to the driver on the day of your wedding.
Change of date
If you change the date of your wedding you must notify us in writing. If the car(s) you have booked
are not available on your new date then the booking will be cancelled without refund of deposit.
Other changes
If you change any other details of your wedding e.g. collection address, church or hotel, you must notify us in writing or complete a new booking form. (We will post one on request.)
Cancellations
Cancellations must be made in writing. If you cancel within 8 weeks of the wedding date, the entire
balance will be payable immediately and shall become a legal liability of the hirer.
Ribbons
If we are unable to source ribbons in your requested colour we will supply an alternative colour or
you may supply your own ribbons.(Material not plastic please)
Champagne
Generally we do not provide Champagne and Champagne may not be consumed while the car is in motion. (Executive Lincoln Town Car,The Jordan Excalibur and The Morris Ambulance are the exceptions ). This is necessary to comply with insurance regulations. If the vehicle is stopped at your photo point then champagne may be consumed outside of the car.
Car
In the unlikely event that the car(s) you book become unavailable or have a problem on the day(due to unforeseen circumstances) every effort will be made to substitute another car.
Children
Children under 3 years of age are not permitted to travel in our cars. This is necessary to comply
with regulations regarding child seats.
Seatbelts
Passengers under 17 years of age must wear seatbelts in our cars where provided.
Liability
In the event if any claim or dispute arising, the maximum liability of Odyssey to the
hirer shall not exceed the total amount paid by the hirer.
Odyssey Wedding Photography
Odyssey Wedding Photography was officially set up in 2010. After 5 years of operating the wedding car hire business, we have seen most of the best wedding photographers in Leinster - and even more of the chancers who didn’t care if they made a hash of a couple’s wedding photos (as long as they themselves made a few euros.) With photography already a long time hobby, we decided that the time was right to move into the wedding photography field. After taking our time and completing a 6 month course - we photographed our first official wedding back in August 2010…. and have done many more since. Unlike many of the photographers out there today, we don’t call ourselves “professionals“, merely good semi-pro’s – who provide the same or a better service at a much more realistic price in todays recessionary climate.
Odyssey Wedding DVD’s
Most of our weddings are for our DVD Package . This is where after your wedding you receive 3 DVD’s of your wedding photo’s set to music. We normally place between 40 and 80 photo’s on these DVD’s with what we think are the best of your pictures.
We also supply a Master CD with all of your wedding photo’s fully edited and ready to be printed out.
This is where we differ from so many of our competitors. Either they will supply you with your wedding DVD’s with no Master CD or they will just hand you over an unedited Master CD which you will probably have to pay to get edited and no DVD’s at all.
Odyssey Wedding Albums
Offering a variety of leatherbound and woodpanelled albums ,professionally produced by a long established photography business our albums will still be breathtaking when your children are looking through them in years to come.At the moment we are only offering the traditional albums but by the end of the year we hope to be offering the Laser Printed albums as well.
Civil Cermonies
If your complete wedding is taking place in and around your hotel Odyssey Wedding Photographywill offer you a small price reduction giving you even better value.
WEDDING VIDEO
ODYSSEY can now offer you a wedding video of the highest standard produced by one of the South East’s best known videographers.
The Video Packages all come with 4 DVD’s of your day professionally edited and set to music where appropiate.
Prices start from €600 ( €550 in a package) for the pre-wedding visit to the bride , the arrival of everyone to the service , to the departure of the bride and groom for their reception.
For a video package that runs to the end of the speeches it will cost €800 (€750 in a package).
For a video package running to the end of the first dance will cost you € 1,000 (€950 in a package).

The Step House Hotel , Borris
A nice hotel based on the main street in Borris.From the outside its a little plain but once you step through the door its like walking into a palace. The decoration is really well done and the rooms are top rate. The function room sits up around the 200 mark and with a castle accross the road and a nice garden conviently off the function room; very handy for the wedding photographs.

This is a lovely hotel situated in Leighlinbridge. Its placed on the river and has a small dock.Just accross the river is a lovely park that’s ideal for wedding photos. It has a massive function room that easily seats 200 plus guests and the hotel itself is fablous. Pricewise they are like most of the Carlow hotels in that they are very competitively priced so if you’re getting married in Carlow don’t book until you’ve checked this place out.

We at Odyssey have been in the wedding car business for over 5 years now and when we started were the only car company for 30 miles around.Of course that soon changed when Gorey Wedding Cars started up near us.They were best known at the time for their Austin Princesses .The business is now been run by Pat Carty as he’s son Dave has returned to full time employment.
Another long time car company would be Classic Cars run by Bobby Stack. Bobby has an Austin Princess and a 1930′s Buick.He’s planning on retiring soon and letting he’s daughter Sara take over.
Actually there must be something in the air because Eamonn Dunne who runs E&S wedding cars in Bray is retiring in April next year or so he told me.Any long time vintage enthuasists will know Eamonn and some of the great cars he’s restored over the years most famously he’s vintage hearse which has won prises all over .He has always been a keen rallyist so now he’ll have all the time he wants.Eamonn operates with 2 vintage Rolls Royces and has been known to drive them across Ireland to do a wedding with he’s wife Sheila for company on the drive.
Leinster limousines has also done a father to daughter change over a few months back so I’m sure we all wish her every success in her enterprise.
These are the main car companies that have been in business and in opposition to Odyssey wedding cars over the years. It is a funny sort of opposition in the wedding car trade as if someone has a breakdown or some kind of other trouble they give another company a ring and they help out if they can.

WEDDING HOTELS
The big bill at the end of the wedding is from this crowd. I have heard some horror stories over the years where the hotels would nearly charge you for using the toilet but the recession has probably made this the most affordable time to get married in the last 10 years. I am not going to run any hotels down but I would urge any brides-to-be that the hotels first offers are not the ones you should accept.
THEY NEED!!! your business. The first thing to do is to beat them down on price (especially if you are having a large crowd at your wedding) and when they’ve gone as far as they’ll go its time to ask about (free!!) extras (BAR EXTENSIONS, EXTRA CHEAP ROOMS FOR FAMILY ETC) .
At the moment the hotels offering the best all around value for money ( this is my opinion and I wouldn’t know half the hotels in Ireland though I’d know a lot of them) are The DOLMEN HOTEL , Kilkenny road , Carlow , The Ashdown Park Hotel , Gorey and The Amber Springs , Gorey.
Most Hotels have realised there is a recession and have adjusted their prices , others still seem to be charging extra for the red carpet when you arrive and the air you breathe while you’re there .So to finish HAGGLE, HAGGLE and HAGGLE some more!
WEDDING DRESSES
I WOULDN’T DREAM OF ADVISING ANYONE ON WHAT DRESS TO PICK (YES, THAT’S A LIE !) BUT ESSENCIALLY YOU MUST LOVE IT ( IT S COSTING AN ARM AND A LEG AND IN SOME CASES A KIDNEY TOO SO YOU BETTER LOVE IT I CAN HEAR YOUR DADS MUTTERING (YOU’RE PROBABLY PAYING FOR IT ALL BUT HE’LL STILL MUTTER)) AS ALL GOING WELL YOU’RE ONLY WEARING IT TO THE ONE SESSION !
SO HERE ARE A FEW HINTS FOR GETTING THROUGH THE DAY IN THE FORT YOU ARE CALLING A WEDDING DRESS:
FIRSTLY IF YOU CAN GET YOUR MOTHER OR HIS TO CARRY A NEEDLE AND THREAD FOR YOU (must be the exact right colour or will be spotted by some old dear who normally can’t see well enough to avoid running into a wall!!) ALSO CHECK OUT THE PACKAGE HE IS OFFERING YOU COMPARED TO A SIMILAR PACKAGE FROM ANOTHER PHOTOGRAPHER. OUR PHOTO PACKAGE IS SIMILAR TO A PHOTOGRAPHER IN CARLOW BUT HE CHARGES €900 AND YOU ”DON’T ” GET THE CD WITH YOUR PICTURES ON IT SO IF YOU WANT AN ALBUM YOU HAVE TO GET IT THROUGH HIM !!! HE SHOULD HAVE THE SAME CHECK LIST AS THE PHOTOGRAPHER AND YOU’LL FIND THAT IF YOU HAVE BOTH THAT THEY WILL SPEND A LOT OF TIME SIDE BY SIDE SO AS NOT TO BLOCK THE OTHERS SHOTS. THE MASS BOOKLET WOULD HAVE TO BE DONE UP BY YOURSELF.( KEEP ALL THE ONES FROM WEDDINGS YOU GO TO YOURSELF AND PICK OUT THE BITS YOU LIKE) ONCE YOU HAVE IT READY POP ALONG TO A PRINTER AND LET HIM AT IT. March 4th Dolmen Hotel 2 pm to 6 pm
We at Odyssey are one of the car companies in the Dolmen’s GOLD PACKAGE so expect to see us here . If you are going to the wedding fair and there is some car in particular you would like to see drop us an email and we’ll bring the most requested . At the moment Clare has requested the Excalibur but if you would like to see the Buick ot the Morris more then let us know. If your choice doesn’t win then why not give us a ring and you can arrange to pop down and view all our cars. You could also sample cakes and check out our wedding photography package
February 26th
Killerig Hotel from 2pm until 5 pm . This will be our first wedding fair here so I hopefully will be able to write a little about it afterwards. If you’d like to talk to us on the day don’t be shy and if there is one particular car you would like to see let us know. At the moment the Executive Limousine is the one I will be bringing.

The Glenview Hotel is having their wedding fair between 2pm and 5 pm. I’m sure they’ll have lots of wedding exhibitors showing their wares .

RDS DUBLIN The most famous wedding fair in Ireland . It has all you brides and grooms flocking from all over Ireland . There will be wedding photographers, video flowers ,vintage cars and limousines ,stationary and wedding cakes , dancers and sketch artists . I’ve missed loads and it should be a great day out for the members of the fairer sex but 4 of my sisters has visited this show and all ended up booking locally so if you don’t book anything don’t feel your time was wasted because you never know what great idea will come to you as you are walking around!

The Arklow Bay Hotel is having a wedding fair from 2pm to 5 pm and I’m sure that there will a great turnout as normal . Unfortunately Odyssey won’t be attending this year as we have just had a baby but we wish everyone in tha Arklow Bay Hotel Wedding Fair well and we’ll see you all there next year . To celebrate our new ARRIVAL we’ll be giving our best wedding special offer ever!!

With the main room recently redecorated the Woodenbridge Hotel is sure to draw a lot of interest in the coming months plus the fact its only a few minutes off the N11 and set in some of the most picturesque countryside in Wicklow. Definitely worth a visit !! Have I been wrong yet ?

Oh happy days , after 11 straight weeks of wedding fairs we are nearly ready for a break for a few weeks but we’ve ended on a good one. Many happy couples made they way around the reception room the exhibition hall was in full swing upstairs.One of the managers informed me that 4 of them were on duty escorting couples about and they were all busy with new couples arriving all the time.There were a few of the exhibitors who were no shows but to be honest they weren’t missed as the rest of us were able to present a better display with the extra space. Now for who was showing their stuff at the Dolmen Hotel today. The wedding cars were represented by of course Odyssey wedding cars, the classic car company and .
Wedding photography was represented by Odyssey wedding photography , Thomas Sunderland and Ken Meaney.
Wedding cakes was represented by Odyssey wedding Cakes and House of Cakes.
Wedding Videography was Odyssey Wedding Videos, Waters Video and East Coast Video Productions (Eugene Whelan).
There was only the one band here today but they were the very good “Wiseguys” who have a vast range of songs but more importantly know all the good ones to get people up and dancing.
Wedding dresses and suit hire were being supplied by MACS menswear, Bridal Hall and Jesole.
Martins Jewellers from Wexford were on site with a brilliant display of jewellary not forgetting the all important rings.
Mr Simms and Chocolate Fountain Hire were looking after everyone’s sweet tooth.
Butlers of Dungarvan were on hand to offer chair covers,back drops etc..
For getting yourself ready for your big day we had Curves for your figure and they are opening in Carlow at the end of March and we had Zoom teeth whitening from Pembroke Dental Centre.
To finish off we have Hughie Glynn Caricatures to keep all your guests amused on your wedding day and we have Sam McCauley Caricature Invitations and stationary at The Digital Photo Centre.
I better not forget to mention that Celtic Wedding Planners organised the wedding fair today at the Dolmen.

Not as many couples through the door as normal and even though the exhibitors were out in force there wasn’t many people to offer their services to.Odyssey wedding photography,Adrian O’Brien and Leo Doyle were offering the wedding photography.Odyssey wedding video and Lens Video were offering the wedding videos. Odyssey wedding cakes and the Cake Creator were offering the wedding cakes.Odyssey wedding cars were offering the wedding cars .
We at Odyssey are wondering if this is the trend for things to come and is the day of the ‘wedding fair’ nearly past!? It is very obvious to us that numbers at wedding fairs has definitely dropped over the last 12 – 24 months with bookings on the day nearly unheard of anymore. People are shopping around using the internet, finding what they want there and booking over the phone or by email. This is the 21st century and hotels and exhibitors need to realise it! Odyssey have so insigning off let me just say “CATCH YOU ON THE WEB! ”
Feb 27th 2011 The Lord Bagnel Hotel 2pm – 5 pm
The Lord Bagnal always has a good wedding fair. I presume this must be down to Faith Ammond who always organises it .There was a full collection of stands with a choice in nearly all of the various types . There was Odyssey Video,Lens Video,Waters video and Barrow Video for wedding video hire. There was Odyssey wedding photography,Gibbon photography and Ken Meaney photography for wedding photography.Wedding cakes were on offer from Odyssey wedding cakes, the House of Cakes and Marianne’s Cakes. Wedding cars were being offered by Odyssey wedding cars and Bobby Stack’s Classic cars .Hennessey’s from Kilkenny were offering suit hire. The Wedding Duo were offering the church music.Smaointe Iontacha (wonderful thoughts) were doing the invitations. There were several other companies at the wedding fair but unfortunately I’ve lost their cards so if they are reading this and want to drop me a email I’ll put them in here.

I must say I was pleasantly suprised by the Stephouse Hotel. Its very deceptive from the outside , neat but a bit plain if you know what I mean but once you step inside its a completely different story. Class and elegance are the name of the game here and the couples couldn’t complement the rooms upstairs enough. Also it was was of the best run wedding fairs I’ve seen for a while speaking well for staff efficiency.Overall a very good turnout. The represented exhibitors were wedding cars Odyssey wedding cakes Odyssey and House of Cakes, Photographers were Odyssey and Ken Meaney Photography , wedding DJ was DAVTEK IRL, Makeup was RUSTIQ Salon and The Hair Mob, Suit Hire by Hennessy’s of Kilkenny, Invitations by sin e origionals, all your wedding extras by Audrey’s Wedding Occassions, jewellary by ju-L and bridal ware by Jeutonic.
Feb 13th 2011 The Summerhill House, Enniskerry 1pm – 5 pm
All the normal suppliers here plus a couple of extras. AKM limousines were here this afternoon and as usual the lads were in fine form. They are one of the few companies we recommend when we’re booked up ourselves. There was also a wedding singer but as she sang the whole time our representitive never found out who she was so if she reads this and wants a mention just let me know and I’ll put your name up. Eugene Whelan was the video and Charlie Sharkey provided the photography as well as Odyssey. Pro DJs were knocking around and Amazing Cakes were trying to compete with Odyssey as well. ( Just joking, we all get on really well) . I belive the hotel done very well with couples queueing to book so if you’re planning to get married in the Summerhill House Hotel you may get your finger out. As usual a very well ran wedding fair and I’m looking forward to the next one in a few weeks.
Feb 6th 2011 Glenview hotel 1pm – 5 pm
What can I say . I am just back from the Glenview hotel wedding fair and frankly if I hadn’t paid before the start they would have had a job getting the money off me afterwards!! Myself, Bellasoul and Cotter Travel were left sitting in the reception and Fitzgerald Suit Hire were stuck in a back room with the wedding dress lady (whose name I didn’t get as I never saw her!.) I’m sure that the exhibitors in the main reception room were happy enough with the day as there was a large attendance, however, for us, we felt that punters didn’t get a fair viewing when many stands weren’t even visable. We had stopped attending the wedding fairs in the Glenview 3 years ago due to the same problem – but decided to give it another chance after they contacted us. We felt (and all others who were omitted from the main hall) that it was so badly organised and did not warrant the exhibitor fees which we were charged. We won’t be back in the near future. We will stick with better organised fairs like the Summerhill House in Enniskerry . (See us there, next Sunday 13th !!)

My feet are killing me.I’m after spending 4 straight hours standing chatting to people without a minute to rest my weary feet. I had Paul Leonard Videos and Adrian O Brien Photography on either side of me and it was a struggle to keep them out of the cake samples.A quick list of suppliers would be Cars - Odyssey wedding cars , Fitzgerald of Tara Hill with he’s Beaufords , and Lens Video with a Beauford and limo. Photographers would be Odyssey Photography , Adrian O’ Brien , Fiona Anderson . Garry O’Neill and Gareth Byrne. Cakes were Odyssey wedding cakes , The Cake Lady and the Cake Creator. Video were Lens Video and East Coast Video and ,yes you’ve guessed Odyssey .Donna Olohan was advertising honeymoons .B Couture ,Alfie Byrne and Marie McEleheron were doing the wedding dresses.Donal and Oisin Molloy were doing the DJ and the Band (The Wiseguys ( these guys are very good but don’t tell them I said so!!)) and of course Rose was there with the flowers. Finishing time was supposed to be 5pm but as anyone who was there to the end will know that it was nearly 6 before it was all over.Well done to the organisers in the Arklow Bay Hotel for a cracking wedding fair !
OCT 7TH LORD BAGNEL, LEIGHLINBRIDGE 6PM – 10 PM
THE LORD BAGNEL HAD A GOOD TURNOUT WITH A STRONG FLOW OF COUPLES LOOKING TO ORGANISE THEIR WEDDINGS AND SEVERAL WERE PRICING THE LORD BAGNEL FOR THE JOB. DON’T KNOW HOW MANY BOOKED ON THE NIGHT BUT AS I WAS NEAR THE HOTEL STAND I CAN TELL YOU THAT THE TABLE WAS RARELY QUIET.FAITH AMOND THE ORGANISER RAN A FABULOUS FASHION SHOW AND EVERYONE WAS PLEASED WITH THE WAY THE NIGHT WENT. I’M SURE WE’LL ALL BE BACK IN THE LORD BAGNEL ON THE 27TH FEBRUARY.
Oct 10 Dolmen Hotel, Kilkenny road , Carlow 2pm – 4pm
Today was held especially for people who had either booked already or had provisionally booked their wedding with the Dolmen Hotel. Exhibitors like ourselves had been asked to come along and display our wares for the happy couples.Odyssey had on offer cakes , photo’s, doves ,cars etc and had a lively three hours answering questions and showing people the Excalibur which was the car we had in the Dolmen today. Over all a good day with everyone going home happy.
Oct 10 Mount Wolsely, Tullow 2pm – 5pm
What can I say except this is one of the best crowds we’ve seen this year. With about 40 exhibitors and God only knows how many couples the place was a hive of activity from start to finish. My wife was complaining about her high heels as she never got to sit down from before 2 until the fashion show at 5. Lots of people were very interested in the photo and car packages but it was the cake samples that drew the people to the Odyssey stand. Over 2 kilos of cake was consumed by couples often returning 2 and 3 times for ” just one more piece ” ( you know who you are ) .
